Yorkshire duo Seafret today release their long-awaited fourth studio album ‘Fear Of Emotion’, out now via Nettwerk. Marking a bold and deeply personal new chapter for Jack Sedman and Harry Draper, the record arrives as their most expansive and emotionally resonant work to date, led by the powerful focus track “Guilty.”

A decade on from their breakthrough record ‘Tell Me It’s Real’, ‘Fear Of Emotion’ captures a band reconnecting with their roots while embracing new territory. Written and recorded across 2025 with long-time collaborator Steve Robson, the album is shaped by a period of reflection, growth, and creative renewal that delivers a body of work that balances vulnerability with widescreen ambition.

“Our new album Fear Of Emotion is finally out for you all to lose yourselves in!” the band share. “We’re so proud of this one. We put our hearts on our sleeve whilst writing this, but listening back, it certainly makes our hearts feel full. We hope you love it as much as we do ❤️”

At the heart of the album sits ‘Guilty’, a striking and emotionally charged track that encapsulates the record’s core themes; love, regret, and the weight of self-reflection. Built around Seafret’s signature blend of intimate lyricism and cinematic production, the song unfolds with a quiet intensity before swelling into a cathartic release, showcasing the duo’s ability to turn deeply personal moments into something universal.

Across its twelve tracks, ‘Fear Of Emotion’ journeys through moments of loss, longing and connection. From the brooding textures of opener “River of Tears” to the stripped-back beauty of “Desert Heart,” the album moves fluidly between intimacy and scale. Recent singles have already offered a glimpse into its emotional range, including “Signal Fire”, “Five More Seconds” the heartfelt collaboration with KT Tunstall and the poignant duet with James Morrison “Driftwood”, all which received BBC Radio 2 playlist support. Rising artist Katie Gregson-MacLeod also features on the delicate “Nobody Sees Us,” adding another layer to the album’s collaborative spirit.

Where 2023’s ‘Wonderland’ explored themes of distance and disconnection, ‘Fear Of Emotion’ is a record that embraces honesty, imperfection, and the full spectrum of human experience. Rich in texture and emotional depth, it stands as a defining moment for a band rediscovering both their purpose and their potential.
