Following the chart success of his debut EP ‘Holy’, rising Irish singer-songwriter Dave Lofts returns with new single “Whistling On A Bottle”, out September 18th via B-Unique Records.

Gritty, brash and delivered with the unfiltered conviction that has quickly become his calling card, “Whistling On A Bottle” finds him entering his next chapter with confidence. Where ‘Holy’ introduced an artist willing to expose the most vulnerable corners of his life, the new single retains that emotional honesty while turning up the swagger, creating a song about love, resilience and refusing to be silenced.

“I want people to listen to my soul. In this one, gritty, brash but honest with love, I believe when writing a song you need to be as vulnerable as ever, show people the hurt, happiness and overall madness. ‘Whistling On A Bottle’ is the people’s song — sing it to your girlfriend, wife or your enemy, whoever else says turn it down. This one is here to mean business. ‘Whistling On A Bottle’ is for those who stick two fingers up in the air and scream, ‘come at me motherfuckers’.”

The release arrives during a breakthrough period for the Wicklow-born, Waterford-based artist. His debut ‘Holy’ EP reached #1 on the Independent Irish Chart and #6 on the Irish Albums Chart, translating the grassroots momentum surrounding his music into significant chart success.

The six-track collection established the foundations of his song writing, moving through love, mental health, vulnerability and redemption with an old-school storytelling sensibility and a voice capable of shifting from bruised intimacy to full-bodied soul.

His rise has also been fuelled by viral performances that have generated millions of streams and views, including interpretations of Kate Bush and Sam Fender and his impromptu performance of his single “Holy” with Grammy winning American singer songwriter Sierra Ferrell when viral reaching several millions of views.

Onstage, that momentum has grown just as quickly with 25 consecutive sold out headline show. He has already shared bills with Dermot Kennedy, Gavin James, Wolf Alice, Picture This, Kingfishr, alongside festival appearances at Electric Picnic and All Together Now. His forthcoming schedule now stretches across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and Australia, with his Irish headline dates already sold-out including his biggest Irish headline statement yet set for Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on February 20th, 2027.

Before then, Lofts will embark upon an extensive autumn run that includes Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester and London before continuing through Oslo, Stockholm, Prague, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Graz and Amsterdam. October will also see him travel to Australia.

Having used ‘Holy’ to establish exactly what kind of songwriter he wants to be, “Whistling On A Bottle” feels like Dave Lofts kicking the door into the next phase of his career. Big-hearted, confrontational and completely uninterested in sanding down its rough edges, it carries the same openness that brought him this far, only now with considerably more fire behind it.
