The announcement is accompanied by a striking new acoustic version of his breakthrough single “Holy”, stripping back one of his most celebrated songs to its emotional core.
Already a defining track in his rapidly growing catalogue, “Holy” introduced audiences to his raw vocal power and deeply personal songwriting. The release arrives following a breakout year for the Wicklow-born, Waterford-based artist. Drawing frequent comparisons to a young Van Morrison and the soulful authenticity of Paolo Nutini, Dave Lofts has built his reputation through songs that feel lived-in and honest. His ability to transform deeply personal experiences into universally relatable stories has helped him cultivate a fiercely loyal audience, both online and on stage.
His rise has been accelerated by a series of viral cover versions that have amassed millions of streams, including acclaimed interpretations of songs by Kate Bush and Sam Fender. His moving performance of Shane MacGowan’s “Song With No Name” also led to a memorable appearance honouring the late Pogues frontman in front of an audience that included members of The Pogues, alongside Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie and Imelda May.
