Irish singer-songwriter Dave Lofts releases his powerful new single “Where Is The Love” on May 29th via B-Unique Records, marking the next major step for one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging voices. It captures the emotional honesty, raw vocal power and heart-on-sleeve songwriting that have already made Dave a standout live presence across Ireland and the UK.

Drawing comparisons to a young Van Morrison and the soulful intensity of Paolo Nutini, Dave Lofts has quickly built a reputation for songs that tackle mental health, anxiety, love and vulnerability with remarkable sincerity and emotional weight.

The new single “Where Is The Love” continues that trajectory, pairing stirring melodies with the kind of lived-in vocal performance that has become his signature. The track further establishes him as a songwriter capable of balancing intimacy with widescreen ambition.

“’Where is the love’ Is about wanting to be loved fighting for a relationship and it never comes? I feel writing this song was exactly where I wanted to go musically as well working with Dan on this one was fantastic.” Explains Dave. “The song leads to a massive build and I truly believe it’s one of the great songs I’ve wrote.”

The release follows a breakout period for the Wicklow-born, Waterford-based artist, whose single “Holy” received widespread radio and media support throughout Ireland and introduced him to an expanding audience far beyond the local scene. Among his growing list of supporters is Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe, who attended Dave’s recent performance at Glasgow’s iconic King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.

Dave’s rise has been fuelled not only by his original material, but also by a series of widely streamed covers, including reinterpretations of songs by Kate Bush and Sam Fender, which collectively amassed millions of streams online. His emotional rendition of “Song With No Name” by Shane MacGowan led to a memorable performance honouring MacGowan in front of members of The Pogues, alongside names including Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie and Imelda May.

His growing reputation as a formidable live performer has already seen him share stages with artists including Gavin James, Wolf Alice, Picture This, Kingfishr and Amble, as well as appearances at major festivals including All Together Now and Electric Picnic.

Alongside the single release, Dave will embark on headline dates and festival appearances across the UK, Ireland and beyond throughout 2026.
