’Paradise’ is about searching for love, until someone makes you realise that love means being held for who you truly are. About being seen, laid bare and held unconditionally, in all your rawness and imperfection.”
Platinum-selling Dutch duo HAEVN (Marijn van der Meer and Jorrit Kleijnen) return with “Paradise”, a big next step in the unfolding of ANIMA, the new world the duo began to introduce with recent releases “Get Up” and “Caught a Light”. ANIMA will be carried into the world by a 20-date European tour in 2027 that takes them to some of the continent’s most celebrated concert halls.
Anima means soul. At a time when technological progress can make the process seem insignificant, and everything seems to revolve around the result, HAEVN deliberately choose to share theirs. Rather than completing their music behind closed doors and unveiling a finished product, they invite audiences into the uncertainty of its creation: the sketches, the doubts, the wrong turns. ANIMA is not a protest against technology, but a tribute to craft.
“Until now we only shared music once it was finished,” says Marijn. “With ANIMA we share the search. Doubt and imperfection are not faults in the process. They are signs that something is at stake. The journey is not the road to the art. The journey is the art. That’s where the human soul contemplates.”
“Paradise” was conceived in a single night, after the duo met someone whose openness left them with nothing to hide.
“With someone new, we felt at home within ourselves,” HAEVN explain. “We felt how intimate it is to be seen by someone who doesn’t decide in advance who you should be. We didn’t have to play a part or live up to expectations. Even the things we usually kept hidden were welcome.”
At the centre of the song sits a simple declaration: “You’re more than the answer. You’re my paradise.” Not love as the solution to a problem, but the peace that comes when two people meet without judgement. Or, in HAEVN’s own words: “Empathy is the most underrated aphrodisiac on earth.”
The music is produced by Tim Bran (London Grammar, Birdy), who also produced HAEVN’s Eyes Closed and Wide Awake, and mixed by Jasper Maeckelberg (Warhaus, Balthazar).
ANIMA on tour
In April 2027 HAEVN play France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany, including shows in iconic rooms in Paris, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. In September and October they return to Belgium, the Baltic states, Finland, Scandinavia and Germany. Audiences will hear ANIMA while it is still taking shape: new songs, sketches and pieces no one has heard before.
“Paradise” is out on 30 October. The artist pre-sale starts Wednesday 4 November at 10:00 CET, followed by the general on-sale on Friday 6 November at 10:00 CET.

About HAEVN
HAEVN is the Dutch duo of singer-songwriter Marijn van der Meer and film composer Jorrit Kleijnen. Since 2015 they have built a cinematic, symphonic world of their own, somewhere between a concert and a ritual: intimate and overwhelming at once. Their record Eyes Closed went platinum, earned three Edison nominations and found its way into Netflix series, while Wide Awake (2024) put them on the IMPALA 100 Artists to Watch in Europe. HAEVN have sold out Le Trianon in Paris, Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London and AFAS Live in Amsterdam, the latter with a 40-piece orchestra, and played Rock Werchter, Pinkpop and Lowlands. Today more than a million people listen to HAEVN on Spotify every month and more than 650,000 subscribe to their YouTube channel, most of them outside the Netherlands.
