Having already made a significant return with their much-loved singles “Wait” and “River Of Tears” earlier this year, Seafret continue their upward ascent joining forces with the unmistakable KT Tunstall on the uplifting new single “Five More Seconds”.

Born from a spontaneous studio session filled with creative chemistry, “Five More Seconds” captures the intensity of a single pivotal moment, the kind that can change everything. With a sense of classic songwriting craft and modern emotional depth, it explores the tension of choice, consequence, and the haunting “what if” that lingers in its wake. Seamlessly blending rich vocals, vivid imagery, and a shared love for honest storytelling, “Five More Seconds” is ready to hit where it hurts and heal where it matters.

Speaking about the collaboration, Seafret said, "When we set out making this record we knew we wanted to bring in some incredible people and collaborate. When we found out KT Tunstall was in town and up for it we were so happy! We had no idea how it would go or what we’d write but this idea started circling in the room and suddenly it was there in front of us like it was meant to be. We have always loved KT’s voice and her songwriting so bringing this song to life with her has been a real privilege."

While KT Tunstall added, “I met Jack and Harry quite a few years back and loved their vibe and songwriting. Real players and songcraft with an old school, troubadour attitude to touring where they put the hours in and got really great at what they do. Authentic and righteous dudes!

It was such a great experience to write with them, and inspiring to witness their attention to the smallest details. We created a movie in our minds of a situation that could go very different ways, focusing on the split second intensity when a decision in a moment can have a deep and lasting effect on your life.”

10 years since the release of their hit single ‘Atlantis’, Yorkshire duo Seafret - aka best friends and musical co-conspirators Jack Sedman and Harry Draper - are heading into 2025 as a band reborn. Having watched the epic emotional catharsis of that single gain a whole new lease of life over the past three years, re-entering the cultural conversation via a viral TikTok moment that then snowballed into more than a billion streams, the band have never had more eyes on them, and more fans awaiting their next moves.

A decade into their career, it’s a situation that neither musician could have predicted. “You can’t compute those numbers,” says Draper. “We’re incredibly proud, but you can’t get your head round it. A million, maybe, but not a billion…” Yet while the stats themselves might be too fantastical for either of these two eternally grounded Northerners to fully reconcile, the fire it’s lit in them is far more tangible. “There’s been a new buzz since everything with ‘Atlantis’,” Draper continues. “It feels like we’re a new band again.”

Having released three studio albums of heart-on-sleeve indie-folk gems that have, from 2016 debut ‘Tell Me It’s Real’ to 2023’s lockdown-recorded third LP ‘Wonderland’, pushed their songwriting into increasingly confident and varied realms, Seafret in 2025 have the vitality of a new band but the experience of seasoned pros. In some ways, they’re still the same men that first met at a Bridington open mic night more than a decade ago - true music fans who just want to communicate via the storytelling of a song - but they’ve also grown exponentially. Now, they’re sailing proudly into the new horizons of their second wind as a band: reinvigorated, replenished, and brighter than ever. “These last years have just made us more hungry for it again,” says Sedman. “It really feels like it’s a fresh new Seafret and we’re ready to go.”
